THERE was plenty of fun for all ages as people in Taunton town centre celebrated Carnival Day on Saturday.

The action kicked off with a parade of vintage cars from Priory Bridge Road to High Street led by Miss Taunton, Sabrina King, the Carnival Queen, along with Princess Jemima Gee.

The vehicles were joined by a group of Harley Davidson motorcycles and were all on display throughout the day.

There was entertainment from street musicians and the Bootstrap Boarder Morris Dancers.

There were several prizes up for grabs, including for a guess the weight of Taunton Mayor Cllr Sue Lees competition, a tombola and other competitions.

And there were a number of children's rides and several stalls.

Unfortunately the annual procession of carnival floats was cancelled for a second year due to the pandemic.

But organisers are already planning for the evening carnival in the town on October 15 next years.
