PUB chain Wetherspoon has announced it plans to sell The Coal Orchard pub in Taunton.
The company has confirmed it will continue to run the pub in Bridge Street until a buyer has been found.
It has also reassured staff that there will be no redundancies as a result of the sale.
Wetherspoon has not given a reason for wishing to sell The Coal Orchard.
Wetherspoon spokesman Eddie Gershon said: “We can confirm that Wetherspoon will be placing The Coal Orchard pub on the market.
“The pub will remain open as a Wetherspoon until a buyer is found.
“There will be no redundancies as a result of any sale.
“The company appreciates that the pub’s loyal staff and customers will be upset with the decision.
“However, on occasion Wetherspoon does put some of its pubs up for sale."
Wetherspoon also owns The Perkin Warbeck pub in East Street, Taunton.
