THE RSPCA has launched an investigation after a badly injured cat was found dead in the street.
The animal had suffered "neck, tail and head injuries" ahead of being found dead in Bath Road, Bawdrip.
The RSPCA was alerted by a vet who raised concerns after examining the cat's body.
RSPCA Inspector Jo Daniel, who is investigating for the animal welfare charity, said: “The cat was taken to vets after being found dead early in the morning on Bath Street in Bawdrip on September 30.
"We’ve spoken to the owner and understand the cat had been seen alive and well the day before.
“We're concerned about what may have happened and encourage anyone with information to contact us on 0300 1234 8018.”
