A SOMERSET man has been ordered to pay over £500 for driving on the A35 Puddletown Bypass in Dorset without third-party insurance.
Richard Scott Phillips, of Sunningdale Road, Yeovil, was caught driving an Audi on the Puddletown Bypass on Saturday, April 3 despite not being insured.
Phillips, 49, pleaded guilty to the offence at Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on Monday, October 18.
He was fined £392 and must pay a £39 surcharge to fund victim services and costs of £90.
He has until November 1 to pay a total of £521.
Phillips' driving record was endorsed with six penalty points.
He also pleaded guilty to driving with no licence, but he did not receive a separate penalty.
