LOTS of people took up the offer of free pizza in Cockermouth when a new takeaway opened in town.

Domino's threw a pizza party at its new base on Station Street on Sunday afternoon.

There was lots of free food up for grabs - and it went down a storm.

The shop has created 20 new jobs in the area, including pizza chefs, in-store team members and delivery drivers.

Harry Gardner, operations manager at Cockermouth, said: “We’re thrilled to have opened our new store in Cockermouth, allowing us to deliver our delicious, handcrafted pizzas to even more of our loyal customers across the country.

"On Sunday, we opened the doors to customers in Cockermouth for the first time to host an epic launch party, featuring a live DJ and hundreds of free large pizzas to enjoy – the perfect way to celebrate our opening!
