A NEW shop opened in Taunton on Saturday (October 23).
MT Games, in the Orchard Shopping Centre, welcomed customers this weekend after they filled their new premises with a huge range of different items.
Matthew Beale opened a small shop in Weston-super-Mare 20 years ago when his wife was pregnant with their first child.
And now, he is opening a shop in Taunton for his son - Cameron Beale - to run.
"We opened a small games shop 20 years ago in Weston super Mare and now we are finally branching out to Taunton with our 20 year old son," said Matthew.
"We continue to sell all the new and used consoles from NES to PS5 but have also branched out into everything collectable.
"There is something for everyone here, from cuddly toys to vintage Star Wars figures, Pokemon to Pop Vinyls alongside new and used Lego, Warhammer and Hornby. CDs/DVDs and Blu Rays are also available.
"We have a massive range of collectible figures including anime, Star Wars, Doctor Who, Super Heroes and Horror."
During lockdown, Matthew and his family managed to sell items online, and have since had a lot of interest in the new shop in Taunton.
As well as giving customers the option to buy a range of products, MT Games also gives people the chance to get rid of their old items. Or, if customers are unable to pay for a product straight away, they have a savings club scheme too.
"We trade in your items for cash or vouchers, so if we sell it in the shop, we will buy it," Matthew said.
"You can also join our all year round savings club - with a small deposit you can then pay off items gradually throughout the year."
The opening of the shop on Saturday was a success.
Matthew added: "Thank you to everyone who came in and supported our shop opening in Taunton today - it was a brilliant day - it was great to see some familiar faces too."
From Monday to Friday, the shop is open from 9am until 5.30pm. On Saturday, it stays open until 6pm. And on Sunday, the opening hours are from 10am until 5pm.
