TAUNTON residents can win a prize by taking part in a Wind in the Willows trail next month.

Shops, businesses, the library and the visitor centre are all taking part in the Willows Town Trail organised by Taunton's Brewhouse.

The trail is linked to the Wind in the Willows Christmas production set to take place at the theatre this December.

From Monday, November 8, people can pick up a map from the Brewhouse, the visitor centre, the library or one of the 26 participating businesses, and follow the trail around the town centre.

You will have to find Mole, Ratty, Toad and Badger in windows around Taunton.

Once you have found them, write down where on the map and return it to the Brewhouse.

All entries will be put into a hat and the winners will be drawn on December 20.

The first five winners picked will receive a prize.

As well as promoting the Wind in the Willows show, the trail has been created to encourage visitors and residents to stop and look at window displays.

Victoria Patch, communications and development manager at the Brewhouse, said: "It’s been a tough year, particularly for independent businesses, and we thought it would be a good idea to encourage people to get out and about and look in the windows (and hopefully go in) of some of the wonderful retail outlets and cafes in Taunton.

"Some businesses are going all out and having a full Wind in the Willows window display, others simply hiding the characters in their existing display.

"Either way, we are delighted that so many are taking part.

"We are also having a mini competition to pick the best Wind in the Willows themed window display so write down which one you like best and email marketing@thebrewhouse.net or message us via social media @BrewhouseLive."

Wind in the Willows will be on show at Taunton's Brewhouse from December 9 until January 2. Tickets are from £16.
