RESIDENTS in Chard enjoyed some Halloween fun on Friday (October 29).

The Chard Halloween Event, run by Chard Town Team, included a pumpkin carving competition, sweet tables, entertainment and impressive costumes.

Cllr Jason Baker, Mayor of Chard, said it was 'great to see lots of people enjoying the event'.

"There were several shops that had trick or treat tables outside as well as several groups that used gazebos to give away sweets in the town centre," he said.

"Kelly Leigh School of Dance performed outside with some spooky dancing and we saw some amazing costumes throughout the evening.

"The whole event was outside to keep everyone safe and everyone who came along had a good time and helped raise money for the mayors charities.

"I would like to thank the Chard Town Team, Chard Carnival Committee, Chard Rotary Club and Gemini Carnival club for all working hard together and making it a great event for all who attended.”

Money raised during the event went to Cancer Research and Chard Carnival Committee.
