MANCHESTER United captain Harry Maguire threw his shirt to one lucky boy after a successful match last month - and that boy was Caleb O'Keefe, from Taunton.

Caleb, and his father Carl O'Keefe, managed to get some last minute tickets to see Manchester United play Atalanta in the Champions League on Wednesday, October 20 at Old Trafford.

The pair found their seats, which were right behind one of the goals, and settled down to watch the match.

Manchester United won the match, with Marcus Rashford scoring one goal and Maguire scoring the other.

Caleb took off his shirt to celebrate Cristiano Ronaldo's goal (which was scored with less than ten minutes to go).

And to Caleb's delight, Maguire threw his shirt to him when he was passing Caleb on his way off the pitch.

Erin O'Keefe, Caleb's mum, said she was sat watching the match at home, but was just making a cup of tea the moment her son appeared on TV.

"My phone suddenly starting going a bit nuts with multiple messages and alerts," she said.

"I glanced at one which said ‘did you see it?’ so I rewound the live footage by a few minutes and watches the whole thing play out.

"I was absolutely thrilled for them both and incredibly proud of Caleb.

"He is such a passionate young man and like a lot of boys his age, he lives, eats and breathes football.

"I will never forget the sheer joy and excitement on his face when he was given that shirt.

"It was such a special moment and memory for him.

"It was a once in a lifetime chance and I felt this made up for missing out on that."

Since that magical moment, Caleb has been re-living the moment, sharing his story with family, friends and football teammates.

Caleb, who has two younger brothers Coby, four, and Casper, eight, said he felt 'shocked, happy and was in disbelief'.

"I am pretty sure this is not only an amazing memory for Caleb but also a moment that will inspire him to continue his passion for football for years to come," added Erin.

"The only dilemma is whether to wash it - as it is really quite smelly!"
