A VETS in Wellington has applied for planning permission to build a single-storey extension to its premises.
Mount Veterinary Hospital, in Taunton Road, wants to add the extra space to house two consultation rooms a reception/seating area, pharmacy and link to the existing main building.
Bosses want to construct the building on a grassed area currently used as an examination and exercise area for animals.
In a planning application submitted to Somerset West and Taunton Council, it says: "The additional space created by the proposed extension will enable the practice to continue to accommodate its existing clients whilst maintaining client confidence, with the additional space allowing more circulation space to accommodate social distancing and safer operations moving forward."
The main building, which was constructed from 2016 onwards, features a rangne of consultation and treatment rooms, along with staff and customer facilities.
