UPDATE: The accident has been cleared and the road has re-opened in both directions with "traffic easing".
POLICE are at the scene of a collision involving three vehicles on the A38 near the Stonegallows Inn, Taunton.
At around 8:30am, a live travel update on Travel Somerset's website said: "A38 both ways closed, queueing traffic due to accident, three vehicles involved from Comeytrowe Lane to Jeffreys Way."
A Travel Somerset tweet from 8:56am said: "We have had reports of #A38 Stonegallows/ Wellington New Rd #Taunton is blocked in both directions due to an accident - avoid if you can."

Traffic has made its way past the accident this morning to travel into and out of the town, and the road is being monitored by police officers.
12pm update: Road re-opens with "traffic easing"
At around 11:50am, Travel Somerset tweeted: "Traffic update - A38 Taunton is now clear following the incident earlier today."
An update on the live travel service's website said: "A38 both ways re-opened, traffic easing, accident cleared from Comeytrowe Lane to Jeffreys Way."

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: "Police were called to a three-vehicle collision on the A38 at Stonegallows just after 8am on Tuesday 23 November.
"The collision involved two cars and a pick-up.
"The vehicles required recovery and the road had to be cleared of debris.
"It re-opened just after 11am."
