A CASUALTY was taken to hospital after a lorry crashed into a ditch last night (November 23).
Fire crews attended the incident on the A3088 near Tintinhull around 9.45pm.
Three fire engines and a heavy rescue vehicle from Taunton, Yeovil and Martock were sent to the incident.
On arrival, firefighters helped to rescue the driver who was still trapped inside the vehicle.
"Fire control received a report of a lorry had crashed with possibly somebody still inside on the A3088 link road," said a spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service.
"On arrival crews confirmed this was a lorry that had crashed into a ditch and the driver was still trapped inside.
"The driver of the lorry was released using hydraulic cutting equipment and electric cutting equipment.
"The casualty was then taken by air ambulance to hospital."
