A MAN has been jailed after admitting to carrying out burglaries in the Taunton area.
Gary Horton, of Belvedere Road, Taunton, appeared for sentencing at Taunton Crown Court on Monday, November 22 after pleading guilty to two counts of burglary.
The charges related to burglaries at a residential address in Mount Street, Taunton, and at a care home for adults with special needs in Upper High Street, Taunton, which both occurred on the night of Sunday, October 3.
Horton, 42, was arrested and charged on Wednesday, October 13 and a quantity of the stolen items, including two stolen bicycles, were recovered.
Two specially adapted high-value trikes stolen from the care home were also later found abandoned.
Horton was sentenced to a total of two years and seven months in prison.
The burglaries were investigated by Operation Remedy officers.
The investigating officer said: "As ever, we’re thankful to the local community for submitting vital intelligence to us to help us disrupt criminal activity.
"I welcome this court result which has seen a prolific offender brought to justice."
