TAUNTON Rotary Club is providing children of all ages with an opportunity to meet Santa during December Saturdays in the run up to Christmas.
Santa has kindly agreed to take a few hours off from present preparation to meet young people whose adults would like to make a donation of £5 per family to Rotary Club charities.
The children will have the chance to have a photograph taken and will receive an early gift thanks to generous support offered by The Entertainer Toy Shop.
A special grotto will be open to visitors to the Taunton Rotary Club Pop Up Shop in North Street (near Lloyds Bank), between 11am and 3pm on Saturdays 4, 11 and 18.
Santa will be accompanied by one of his elves, who will chaperone the children, although young people remain the responsibility of their parents or guardians at all times.
The temporary shop has proved a success, raising in excess of £7,000 for charities so far.
Local beneficiaries include the League of Friends of Musgrove Park Hospital and Conquest Riding Centre.
Action for Climate Change group volunteers are partnering with the Rotarians and have been pleased to dispense advice on recycling and sustainability.
The store will remain until the end of the year selling a wide range of quality donated items every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday with the prospect of some additional opportunities to buy during late night shopping on Thursday evenings.
