A WOMAN from Wellington celebrated her 107th birthday this month.

Dina Aldridge (known as Pat) enjoyed a special celebration at Nynehead Court.

Pat was born in Solihull on November 26 1914, four months after the outbreak of the First World War.

One of eight children, she is the only one of her siblings to reach the age of 100.

Pat was married to her husband, Ken, for 52 years until she was widowed in 1990.

She lived independently in the community until recently, and then decided to move to Nynehead Court to remain close to her friends.

Pat enjoyed a day of celebrations, with her family visiting in the morning before a party in her honour in the home’s Orangery in the afternoon.

The party was attended by staff and residents, and everyone enjoyed the birthday cake baked by Nynehead Court’s chefs.

Home manager, Joanne Fenn, said: “We were delighted to be able to help Pat share her special day.

"She is a remarkable lady, who has reached a wonderful age.”

Nynehead Court offers retirement living for older people, who require residential care.

There is residential care for 44 people within The Court and close care housing for 11 retirees/couples within The Mews.
