AN elderly motorist has died following a three-vehicle collision in Somerset.
Five people were taken to hospital following the crash in Tickenham Road, Clevedon, yesterday evening (Tuesday, November 30).
Emergency services attended the incident at around 4.35pm and a road closure was in place for several hours while enquiries were carried out at the scene.
An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said: "Five people were taken to hospital following the collision with varying degrees of injury.
"Sadly, the driver of one of the vehicles, a man in his 70s, was later pronounced deceased.
"His next of kin have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.
"We’re asking anyone who witnessed the collision or the moments leading up to it to get in touch with police on 101, quoting reference 5221281893."
