A CAR was badly damaged in a fire yesterday evening (Sunday, December 5).
Fire crews were sent to the incident in Puriton at 7.44pm following a number of 999 calls.
Firefighters from Bridgwater tackled the car blaze at the side of the road.
A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Crews successfully extinguished the fire which had caused 50 per cent damage to the vehicle.
"This was believed to be accidental ignition."
