A MONTHLY market was a huge success on Saturday (December 11).

The Coronation Hall in Burrowbridge launched their monthly market in August to support local businesses, keep the hall running and bring the community together.

The December market, held on Saturday, was the biggest so far - with 21 stallholders.

Lorna Gray, trustee of The Coronation Hall, said: "We were told by stall holders and customers that this one, like all our markets, had a lovely friendly atmosphere and also provides a place for people to meet up and chat over a cuppa and a breakfast roll.

"The fact that some Covid restrictions have come back didn't dampen anyone's enthusiasm.

"We're lucky that we have a large hall which provides plenty of space for stall holders and for people to move around without it getting too crowded.

"The Christmas market was a great success and we are grateful to those that came along to support it; the stall holders and all those that helped with setting up and running it on the day.

"Our raffle was also very popular. Each stall holder kindly donated a prize and our star prize was a 40" Smart TV donated by the Argos Bridgwater Distribution Centre."
