VILLAGERS crafted a vast array of angels and displayed them in the church to “bring people together during an unusual festive period”.

Corfe's Angel Festival, centred in and around the village church, has been set up by Christine Bradbeer, and Gaynor and Brian Lewis.

The church is now packed with a vast array of angels crafted by villagers and friends, families, and children. A special children’s angel crafting session proved to be productive too.

Mrs Bradbeer said: “I had the original idea and we just wanted to put a few angels in the church but it escalated and it became a community thing.

“We’ve got a lot of new people and families in the village and they all got together.

“It brought the community together. It’s been fun doing it.”

Mr Lewis, who also helped in the creation of the crafts, often made of recycling material, said the festival “brought a great deal of joy” to the community.

The village has enthusiastically embraced the idea and the surge of crafting and innovation has helped bring people together during an unusual festive period.

Corfe Church is open from 10am until 3pm every day until January 2, 2022 and everyone is invited to come and see the angels.

Below are the photos of the festival.
