A PUB landlady has stunned locals in her village by closing for good.
Sarah Soutar announced on Facebook this week that the London Inn, in Othery, was closing "with immediate effect".
She wrote: "It is with a heavy heart that we have made the decision to close with immediate effect.
"We would like to apologise to the loyal customers who have supported us and who genuinely wanted us to remain open.
"Despite the disappointing news, may I take the opportunity to wish you all a happy and health 2022."
The London Inn, in line with many pubs up and down the country, has seen a marked fall in customer numbers over the years, leading to a drop off in trade.
The detached freehouse pub has been marketed for sale since last month by Sidney Phillips off an asking price of £450,000.
The company says: "The premises benefits from interconnecting bar and dining areas with seating for 50, a games room, recent landscaped enclosed patio garden, skittle alley and a high quality three bedroom flat.
"The London Inn has been run by the present owner for approximately 30 years and has been a popular community-based village free house which in the recent past has housed sports teams.
