STAND-UP poet, comedian and broadcaster Elvis McGonagall is set to become the first performer of the year at Dulverton Town Hall.

The Scottish performer will bring his Full Tartan Jacket show to the town on Saturday, January 22 at 8pm.

The show has been organised by Dulverton Town Hall's trustees and the Dulverton Development Forum in partnership with Take Art, Somerset's unique touring programme that aims to bring professional, high-quality events to rural communities.

Audiences can expect a blend of provocative verse and satirical, politically savvy stand-up comedy with searing wit and wordplay from a World Poetry Slam Champion and Radio 4 regular.

A spokesperson for Dulverton Town Hall said: "Full Tartan Jacket presents the prime cuts from the work of a comic poet at the top of his game.

"Trustees of Dulverton Town Hall continue to have the safety of audiences at the front of their minds and continue to follow all government guidance and regulations."
