POLICE are appealing for information after a shop worker was spat at by a customer.
The incident happened between 9.30am and 10am on Wednesday, December 15 2021, at a store on Glastonbury high street.
A man entered the shop and became verbally abusive when he was asked to wear a mask. He was asked to leave and then spat directly at a member of staff.
Because of this, the store was then closed for a deep clean.
Avon and Somerset Police has said the staff member was left 'shaken and distressed'.
They are appealing for information about the man pictured.
"Do you recognise this man?," a spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said.
"Officers would like to speak to him as part of their investigation into an incident in a shop in Glastonbury.
"The man in the image was in the area at the time.
"He's described as white, in his 40s or 50s, wearing a jacket, grey baseball cap and blue trousers or jeans.
"Officers ask him - or anyone who can help to trace him - to call 101 and give the reference 5221293803. "Alternatively ring the independent charity Crimestoppers 100 per cent anonymously on 0800 555 111."
