Full details HERE.

MOTORISTS are being advised that there is "currently approximately five miles of congestion approaching the closure" which is causing delays in excess of an hour.

THE M5 northbound in Somerset is closed between Junction 22 (Weston-super-Mare, Burnham-on-Sea, Bristol Airport) and Junction 21 (Weston, Bristol South).

It will remain closed until at least 9am "due to a serious police incident".

Avon and Somerset Police have been managing the incident, which began several hours ago.

Motorists are advised the road will be closed while officers conduct a full investigation.
