"Three fire engines were immediately sent.
"On arrival crews confirmed that this was an end of terrace property and there was a confirmed fire in a first floor bedroom."
They added that the fire was extinguished, saying: "The bedroom was 100 per cent damaged by fire and there was 20 per cent heat and smoke damage to the first floor.
"The cause was believed to be accidental."
