BMW driver caught doing 142mph on M5 in Somerset
POLICE caught the driver of this BMW speeding at more than TWICE the speed limit on the M5 in Somerset.
The car was clocked speeding through the county at 142mph today (Thursday, January 20).
It took until almost Bristol until the police managed to pull the driver over.
A tweet from Avon and Somerset Police roads policing unit said: "Supercar at track speeds on the M5.
"Drver detected at a speed of 142mph today in Somerset and was stopped by officers near to Bristol.
"This level of driving is both reckless and selfish - it puts lives at risk."
The BMW driver was one of 25 motorists caught travelling at more than 85mph in an hour.
