HOME improvement retailer B&Q has opened a new store in Frome.

The new store was declared officially open yesterday (Friday, February 4) with a formal cutting of the ribbon by Sara Butler, Deputy Mayor of Frome.

Located on Station Approach Road, B&Q’s latest small format store will make it quicker and easier than ever for Frome customers to access the latest home improvement essentials and promotional products.

The new store is the first small format store to open in England outside the South East and will offer a wide range of DIY and home improvement products.

As well as a large outside garden centre, the store will offer kitchen and bathroom design services, paint and paint mixing, decorating tools, power tools, décor and lighting, houseplants, hardware and electrical and plumbing products.

Customers will have access to the full B&Q range of more than 40,000 products to order for click and collect or home delivery.

Liam Sheppard, Frome store manager, said: “My team and I are looking forward to welcoming local residents into our latest store.

"Whether its gardening, last-minute DIY essentials or an exciting home improvement project, we look forward to offering convenient access to a wide range of products and advice to anyone that needs it.

"I’m also very pleased to say that the opening of our new Frome store has created 21 jobs in the local area.”

B&Q is encouraging customers to wear face coverings and has maintained social distancing measures to help customers shop safely.

The opening of B&Q Frome follows a series of smaller format store openings reflecting the change in customer expectations for speed and convenience.

The new store is open seven days a week: Monday-Saturday 7am-8pm, and on Sunday 10am-4pm.
