TAUNTON resident, Jake Miller has been awarded Clubman of the Year at MANvFAT Football in Taunton.

Since joining the Taunton MANvFAT club in April 2019 Jake Miller has been part of a group of local men striving to live lighter, fitter and healthier lives and has now been recognised for his amazing work.

Roger Smith, coach of the Taunton club said “Jake is a thoroughly deserved winner of the Clubman of the Year award.

"He leads by example as the captain of his Wannapizzathis FC team and never stops supporting players right across the club.

"I am really proud that his achievements have been recognised on a national level as he is a real driving force in the Taunton, congratulations Jake."

With more than 6000 men taking part nationwide MAN v FAT Football is a weight loss programme for overweight and obese men based around a 6-aside football league where individual and team weight loss is rewarded in addition to the scores on the pitch.

Held each Sunday morning at Castle school the Taunton club has made a dramatic impact on the health and wealth being of those taking part with over 1000kgs lost since it started in August 2018.
