ON Saturday, April 2, Taunton Town Football Club held a past players reunion event at the Cygnet Health Care Stadium.

The event took place before and after Taunton Town's match against local rivals Weston-super-Mare in which the home side were 3-2 victors in dramatic fashion.

A large number of former players from the football club gathered together to enjoy sharing memories and looking at old pictures from playing days.

Fittingly, Taunton's win against Weston on the day sent them top of the Pitching In Southern League table - the current players putting on a good show for past players.

Brian Tottle, aged 93, was the eldest of the past players who enjoyed the event, he played for Taunton Town in the 1950's after joining from Bridgwater Town.

He said: "It is always great catching up with old friends and other past players.

"Today has been really nice, it has been a long time since I played for Taunton Town but one thing that has stayed the same is the community feel at the club."
