SOMERSET spin bowler Jack Leach has told the County Gazette that he is fired up and cant wait to play in front of a home Taunton crowd once more.

"It is exciting to be back from a tough winter period with England and catch up with my teammates here at Somerset, we want to hit the ground running.

"I am looking forward to heading out in front of our fans each week, they really are a twelfth man for us," Leach said.

Leach along with fellow England teammate Craig Overton will both miss Thursday's game against Hampshire as they are still getting ready after the West Indies tour.

He said his goal for the season is to take wickets and get results.

"My goals this year are to take as many wickets as I can, as a team the goal is to improve on last years performance and continue to improve the culture in the squad and the players mindsets.

"I want to win all three competitions, but as we are yet to win a County Championship, that is the one I want to really win."

He said that the group of players at Somerset are all fighting for the same goal and that the level of camaraderie is at a high.

"At the moment we are all a good group of mates, the new additions to the team have fit in really well also.

"It will definitely help us out in achieving our goals this year, I really cant wait to get started."
