SOMERSET'S newest Costa Coffee drive thru' has opened today (Thursday, April 7) in Glastonbury.

Customers can now enjoy their favourite coffee along with a wide range of food options at the store in Wirral Park Road.

The Glastonbury premises is one of more than 100 new stores the company and its franchise partners plan to open throughout this year.

Costa says investment in the area is part of its commitment to supporting the villages, towns and cities in which it operates as it comes back stronger after the pandemic.

As part of a refreshed look and feel for its stores, Costa Coffee has installed a range of innovative new features for customers.

Somerset County Gazette:

Visitors to the store can now choose their favourite food or drinks from digital menu boards or from the Drive-Thru Lane, and can even order in advance through Click & Collect on the Costa Coffee app.

Customers can also select food options from the recently launched Costa Coffee Now Serving M&S Food collaboration or a new freshly baked food offer only found in a small number of Costa stores, where they can get their hands on warm cookies and pastries.

With the Costa Coffee app, customers can benefit from an exciting loyalty programme, which rewards members with a free handcrafted drink after eight purchases.

The scheme also incentivises customers who choose to reuse by offering an extra ‘green bean’ with every purchase of a handcrafted drink in a reusable cup.

With only four purchases needed for a free drink, it’s a boost for customers and helps reduce the number of takeaway cups used.

Costa Coffee regional operations director Mike Aldridge said: “We are proud to bring a brand-new Costa Coffee to Glastonbury, creating at least 15 new jobs for local people and investing in the community.

"The Wirral Park Road store is the perfect place to grab a quick drink whilst out shopping or en route to work, or enjoy the outdoor seating with some friends over delicious traybakes.

"Our brilliant team are ready to welcome customers to the store and serve them a perfectly crafted Costa coffee alongside our exciting food range.”

The store team will also be focused on important causes alongside excellent service.

They will be recycling takeaway cups and used coffee grounds, and finding time to support coffee growing communities around the world by raising money for the Costa Foundation.
