PROPOSALS have been unveiled for five apartments in office space in the centre of Wellington.
A planning application for full planning permission for the project at Grade II listed 10b High Street has been submitted to Somerset West and Taunton Council.
The scheme involves converting the rooms above Watson & Smith Opticians and Chandi Chowk. The two ground floor businesses will continue trading as normal.
A statement submitted to planners says: "A number of other properties on the High Street have residential accommodation on the upper floors, including both numbers 8 and 12 High St - either side of Clifford House (No. 10 High St).
"It is commonly appreciated that a mix of residential and commercial properties in town centre locations leads to a more vibrant, economic and socially sustainable area."
