FAMILIES in Milverton joined a free egg rolling event to celebrate Easter Monday.
It took place on Easter Monday and children and adults rolled their own decorated hard-boiled eggs down Parsonage Lane.
Doug MacLeod, who helped organising the event, said: “Egg rolling is traditional in Scotland where I grew up and many parts of Northern England.
“We decided to give it a try here in Milverton which is a very social village and held the first event about four years ago following it with an egg hunt in the churchyard.
“It went well so was repeated the following year. We had to miss the next two years (Covid restrictions) so yesterday [Easter Monday] was the first for some time.
“It was always meant to be a small local event, just to provide a bit of Easter fun for local families and visiting relations. We were delighted with the turnout this year. We are also very grateful for the help from friends in making all go smoothly.”
