CINNABON could be opening a new store at the Dunball Services near Bridgwater, if new signage is anything to go by.

Branding for the American bakery chain has recently been spotted at the site, alongside names such as Starbucks, Greggs, and Sbarro.

Cinnabon opened its first store in the UK two years ago in Blackburn, which is where its master franchisee, the Euro Garages Group (EG Group), has its global headquarters.

The EG Group is currently constructing a new petrol station, a Starbucks drive-thru, and a KFC on the northern side of the Dunball roundabout, near junction 23 of the M5.

In November 2020, the EG Group announced plans to open 150 Cinnabon stores in the UK over five years.

At the time, the EG Group’s food and beverage director for Europe, Mohammad Tayab, said: “Cinnabon is a well-recognised and enjoyed brand.

“We are delighted to be able to serve our UK customers with delicious, freshly baked products when they want to treat themselves.

“EG Group has once again partnered with another global brand, bringing the ultimate convenience to customers.”

What is Cinnabon?

The closest Cinnabon store to Somerset is within an Asda supermarket in Bedminster, Bristol.

The chain’s menu includes its signature Cinnabons, Chocobons, Caramel Pecanbons, and cinnamon chips.

The menu also has hot and iced coffees, a range of Chillattas (frozen blended beverages), and homemade lemonade.

Their Cinnabons use cinnamon from Indonesia known as Makara cinnamon, which the company says “creates a one-of-a-kind experience you can smell and taste”, with freshly-baked dough and “Ooey-Gooey” frosting.
