THE majority of people who moved into two local housing developments are delighted with their new homes, according to a survey.

Barratt David Wilson Homes has received a top five-star in the Home Builders Federation (HBF) annual New Homes Customer Satisfaction Survey for Nerrols Grange, in Taunton, and Moorland Gate, in Bishops Lydeard.

The number of stars is based on customer responses to the question: “Would you recommend your builder to a friend?” - more than 90 per cent said they would.

Stewart Baseley, HBF executive chairman, said: “To achieve a five-star rating...demonstrates the commitment of the company to its customers and is a significant achievement.”

Louise Ware, Barratt David Wilson Homes sales director, said: “We’re extremely proud to have been rated as a five-star housebuilder at Nerrols Grange and Moorland Gate.

"We focus on looking after customers by building high quality homes using sustainable methods and materials, so it is always great to hear back from them saying how much they value this, and rate us so highly.”

Andrea Pilgrim, Barratt Bristol sales director, said: “The high satisfaction rates are testament to the commitment we make to building high quality properties that our customers are proud to call home.

"Our customers are at the heart of everything we do and it is this focus that results in such high recommendation scores.”

To celebrate the accolade, Barratt Developments is donating £100,000 to Starlight, a charity which provides distraction and boxes filled with sensory toys and games to hospitals around the UK to use the power of play to make the experience of illness better for children.

Starlight chief executive Cathy Gilman said: “Thank you so much to Barratt Developments for choosing Starlight for such a significant donation.

"Their generosity will help us to provide time, space and even more opportunities for play in hospital for seriously ill children across the UK."

The HBF New Homes Survey is one of the largest surveys of its type in the country and is completed by nearly 50,000 people who have recently bought a new build home.

The star rating system was developed to show customers which housebuilders have the most satisfied customers.

The Nerrols Grange community is set in six acres of open space and includes allotments, a play area, a primary school and a nursery.

Moorland Gate is surrounded by countryside and overlooks the Quantock Hills. It includes six acres of open spaces and play areas.
