A TWO-DAY event focused on bringing the south west's extreme metal scene together while raising money for good causes returned to The Cobblestones in Bridgwater at the weekend. 

Southwest Heavyfest was held on Saturday, April 30 and Sunday, May 1. 

The event featured headline acts including Party Cannon from Scotland, Ukrainian blackened death and doom band 1914, and Monolithian from Falmouth. 

A total of 17 bands performed across the two days, with other acts including Basement Torture Killings, Sergeant Thunderhoof, Priest Crippler, Master Charger, Total Consumption, Dremora, Seregon, Doomicidal, Cast In Tephra, King Corpse, Lightning Sharks, Angler, Public Execution, and Tromboscopy.

All profits from the event will be donated to Love Musgrove, the official charity of Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton

Before the event, a spokesperson said: “Our weekend lineup is absolutely stacked!

“Help raise some money for Love Musgrove and enjoy a weekend of extreme music!”

On Saturday, The Cobblestones encouraged people to “head down for a weekend of metal” at the Eastover pub and live music venue. 

The previous edition of Southwest Heavyfest was held in January
