HUNDREDS of cosplayers and gaming fans descended on Wellsprings Leisure Centre in Taunton on Saturday, April 30 for Somerset Comic Con and Gaming Festival.
The festival featured the Tu-Bus mobile learning and gaming centre, merchandise stalls, a dinosaurs zone, Light Saber classes, axe-throwing, a cosplay zone with photoshoots, and a range of food and catering stalls.
Guests at the festivals included comic artist Nick Gribbon, supporting artist Nathan James Pegler, and musician and creature performer Matthew Rohman.
The event was organised by UK Comic Con and Gaming Festivals, which runs "comic and gaming events across the south west and beyond with the best of props, exhibitors, vendors, Cosplay, gaming, comic artists and more".
A cosplay meet-up was organised at the event by Somerset Cosplayers.
After the event at Wellspring Leisure Centre, a spokesperson for UK Comic Con and Gaming Festivals said: “What an amazing turn out for what is our smallest event!
“Somerset Cosplayers organise the meet each event and we were so lucky with the weather Saturday.”
An event attendee commented: “Thank you too for the hard work and organisational skills that made such an incredibly awesome experience.”
Another said it was a “great event in the sun”.
