Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton has received a donation of £500,000 to fund new specialist equipment.

This was made possible Musgrove Park Hospital’s League of Friends, who collected donations from the public, and money from those who left a ‘legacy’ to the League of Friends in their will.

The volunteer led group’s donation has enabled the hospital to purchase a spinal table for the orthopaedic department.

As well as this, imaging equipment for prostate diagnoses in urology, and also treatment and grants for the new Macular Treatment Centre.

The remaining money will be spent on further state of the art equipment, that will benefit both patients and staff.

Musgrove Park League of Friends Chairman, Peter Renshaw, thanked all of the organisations and individuals who helped to raise money for the group during the year.

With over 60 years of supporting Musgrove Park Hospital, the League of Friends volunteers have ensured that all donations and legacies from the community have been put to good use in supporting the hospital.
