THE latest weekly Government figures show a total of seven people who had tested positive for Covid-19 died in the Somerset West and Taunton district.
The deaths between April 27 and May 3 were of people who had tested positive for coronavirus in the preceding 28 days.
The figure represents a decrease of 36.4 per cent compared to the previous seven days.
The number of people in the district who tested positive over the same period was 217 - a drop of 32.2 per cent over the previous seven days.
Between April 25 and May 1, 703 people in the South West went into hospital with coronavirus.
There were 700 patients in hospital in the region with Covid-19 yesterday (May 3) - 12 of them on a mechanical ventilator..
