The weekend is here and with it comes the endless potential of what to do with the free time we've worked so hard for all week.

Many of us will visit family or friends, go on days out or attend sporting events.

But there is plenty to do on our doorstep, as the local residents of Taunton can attest to.

Even today there is a food and drink festival on in the centre of town.

We recently asked people what their favourite things to do on a Saturday in Taunton were and we got some brilliant replies.

Tessa Grabham said: "To me Taunton has friends, family, lovely coffee shops, pubs for meals and cocktails and surrounded by beautiful countryside.

"Today I’ve been for a lovely walk near Netherclay and now meeting a friend for coffee."

Suzanne Field said: "Dinner at the Ring of Bells or Augustus. The Brewhouse, Silverscene, small individual clothes shops, Bath Place, The Market on a Thurs. The museum. The Canal, The little deli and the cafe on the corner, the fish shop. So much negativity have a look around properly you will love It! Don't shut your eyes have lunch in the park on a sunny day and Enjoy!"
