Shepton Mallet striker Aaron Seviour was looking to raise £1,000 for the Dorothy House Foundation last Sunday at the home of Shepton Mallet FC.
However, with over 500 people in attendance for the popular striker, the event saw more than £3,000 raised for this very important charity.
Aaron and his brother Curtis captained the two sides who were playing for the Frankie Blacker Cup and with the scores level at 5-5 after 90 minutes, it was Aaron’s side who eventually won on penalties, but despite the goal feast, this was all about raising money for the Dorothy House Hospice Care.
Aaron said after the fundraiser: “I am over the moon with the support from the people of Shepton Mallet and of course the football club who were so supportive of the charity event and I cant thank everyone enough for their support.”
