ARMED police and dog handlers arrested two men on suspicion of drugs charges in a raid on a home in Taunton earlier this morning (Thursday, May 12).

Several officers were involved in the operation as they carried out a warrant at the property in Hereford Drive at around 8am.

The two men arrested, aged 34 and 41, were taken into police custody on suspicion of possession of cocaine and cannabis with intent to supply.

At this time, both are still in police custody.

An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said: "Officers with the Neighbourhood Policing and patrol teams, as well as police dog handlers and firearms officers, carried out a warrant at a property in Hereford Drive, Taunton, at around 8am this morning (Thursday 12 May), to execute a warrant.

“Two men, aged 34 and 41, were arrested at the scene on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A and B drugs (cocaine and cannabis).

"Both remain in police custody and enquiries are ongoing.”
