TAUNTON had its very own Sir Tom Moore at the St Margaret's Hospice Colour Run event on Saturday (May 14).

Ernest Proctor, aged 92, joined in the fun at Taunton Racecourse in memory of his late wife Doris.

Mr Proctor walked around the course with three generations of his family - his daughter Karen, granddaughters Hannah and Georgia and great grandchildren Annabelle, Honey, Evie and Ronnie.

His granddaughter Hannah Cooper said: "He did an amazing job and completed one full circuit.

"He is very proud that he now has three medals from the St Margaret's colour runs.

"He has raised over £900.00 this time round with donations still coming in.

"My grandad does this in memory of my grandma, who spent her final few weeks in St Margaret's Hospice four years ago. Prior to this she had support at home from the hospice.

"We are immensely proud of him for doing this and for all the practice he did and his achievement on the day."

Participants in the Colour Run dressed up in bright outfits to run, walk or dance the 5km route around the racecourse.

On the way round there were paint stations of colour, with a paint party at the end.
