FIREFIGHTERS in three appliances were sent to reports of a fire in a property in Cheddon Road, Taunton, this afternoon (Tuesday, May 17).
Fire control received a call reporting the smell of smoke and an alarm sounding from the house at 3.47pm.
All occupants managed to get out of the property before two fire engines from Taunton and one from Bridgwater arrived on the scene.
The firefighters used breathing apparatus and hose reel jets to extinguish a fire in the kitchen.
A spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said the fire involved cooking on a hob, which was removed to the fresh air.
They added: "Everyone was accounted for and got out safely before the crews arrived."
