LOCAL racer Nick Priddy wowed the crowds at Pembrey race circuit in Wales last weekend to win the third round of the RX150 British Rallycross Championship.

Priddy was racing some of the best drivers in Europe including some professionals, who had flown in for the event.

The RX150 class is full of top class drivers who use a 1000cc engine race buggy, but due to its minimal weight means it is incredibly fast.

The day started well for Priddy, who owns Brendon Service Station and Williton MOT and Car Sales, as he showed good pace in the early practice rounds.

After a strong set of results in the heats Priddy qualified on pole and held off the field to finish in first and take maximum points in the title fight.

Round four was also held the next day at the circuit, with a change of circuit direction and weather conditions meant new challenges to face. After a few mechanical issues to overcome Priddy was just pipped at the post for a podium finish in the fourth round.

"Pembrey is a circuit that's really fun to drive, I knew we had good pace, but to outperform some of the best in business, including a World Rallycross Driver and a British Rally Driver, was just an amazing feeling.

"Sunday presented us with some issues to overcome, but it was still incredible to be fighting for the podium."

The next rounds for the championship will take place in Ireland next month.
