TWO motorists have avoided driving bans despite being over the legal speed limit and racking up enough points for a suspension.
Jake David Toms, 35, of Slough Green Caravan Park, West Hatch, was twice clocked breaking the 50mph speed limit in Cornwall - in Saltash on June 15 last year and in Camborne on August 13 last year.
He was fined a total of £80, with £68 victim surcharge and £90 costs.
He received a total of six penalty points but was not banned as he has an ankle injury and needs to drive himself to hospital for treatment.
Nick Hollands, 39, of Tree Tops, Carhampton, was caught doing 46mph in a 30mph limit on Bircham Road, Alcombe, on March 19 last year.
He was fined £420 with a £34 victim surcharge and £90 costs, with six points.
He avoided a ban as he needs to drive his son to hospital.
Hollands received no separate penalty for driving without insurance on the same road that day.
