A charity abseil will be taking place at Wells Cathedral to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee in the summer.
The event will see abseilers descend from the North West tower dressed in royal attire.
It is being organised by SOS Africa, a UK based grassroots child sponsorship organisation which funds the education and care of underprivileged African children.
The successful 2019 event saw 350 brave fundraisers raise an incredible £60,000 and the 124ft abseil challenge will return to Wells Cathedral on June 4, 5, 10 and 12.
The freefall abseil was initially scheduled to take place in autumn 2021 but had to be postponed due to rapidly increased COVID-19 infection rates. Organisers, SOS Africa and abseil instructors, Aardvark Endeavours hope that this summer event will give everyone something to look forward to and the opportunity to support 3 causes close to many of our hearts: education, heritage and healthcare.
