THIS car left a trail of destruction after it hit a wall and a house and landed half the length of a football pitch down the road on its roof.

The driver involved in the single-vehicle road traffic collision at Durston suffered "multiple injuries" but managed to get out of the car on their own.

Firefighters rendered first aid along with two off-duty paramedics and made the car safe.

The police and ambulance service also attended.

A spokesperson for Taunton Fire Stationsaid: "Last night (Tuesday, May 23) on call firefighters from Taunton attended a single vehicle RTC (road traffic collision) at Durston.

"The driver of the car struck a wall and house and landed approximately 50 metres down the road on its roof.

"The driver had multiple injuries but self extricated from the vehicle.

"Crews rendered first aid with the assistance from two off duty paramedics and made the vehicle and scene safe.

"Police and the Ambulance Service also attended."
