MILLFIELD Preparatory School has been recognised for the number of physical activities on offer for its pupils.
The school received the recognition after undertaking a physical activity audit developed by the EYFS Physical Activity group at SASP (Somerset Activity & Sports Partnership) and the Early Years Team at Somerset County Council and Public Health.
Health and well-being of pupils are paramount at Millfield Pre-Prep, which caters to children from ages 2 in its Pre-School to Year 2, with all the children participating in sports, activities, or clubs every day.
At Millfield Pre-Prep, Early Years education is highly valued and the school prides itself on supporting the vital developments that occur in the first five years of a child’s life.
There is a holistic approach, where every element of the children’s abilities to learn are embraced, which builds a solid foundation for pupils to flourish.
Mike Jory, head of Millfield Pre-Prep, was delighted with the award and commended his staff for their efforts.
He said: “It is always great to receive an award like this because it is a reminder that as a school, we are doing the right thing.
"The health and wellbeing of our children is a priority here and so we are glad that this has been recognised.”
He added, “the team we have at Millfield Pre-Prep is an amazing one. The staff is devoted to creating an environment for the children where they can thrive, and we see the benefits daily.”
