A WOMAN has died following a collision on the A39 Bristol Hill in Wells, Avon and Somerset Police have confirmed.
The emergency services were called to the scene of a “serious road traffic collision” just after 9am this morning.
The road has since been closed in both directions.
The police have confirmed that the collision was between a car and a lorry.
A police spokesperson said: “As a result of a collision which took place this morning (Wednesday 25 May) at around 9am on the A39 Bristol Hill in Wells, we can confirm a woman has sadly died.
“Our thoughts are with her family during this difficult time.”
Officers have appealed for anyone with information or dashcam footage to contact them.

The spokesperson added: “If you witnessed the collision, which was between a car and a lorry, or have any dashcam footage which could aid the investigation, please contact 101 and quote reference number 5222123718 to the call handler.”
