JUSTIN Lowe, a partner and auctioneer for Greenslade Taylor Hunt, has reported an enthusiastic crowd of buyers at the firm's May auction held at the Batch Country House Hotel, in Lympsham.

There was a mix of agricultural and residential purchasers for the 16 lots on offer across mid and North Somerset comprising residential development opportunities, investment, land and buildings.

The sale commenced with a delightful block of 7.5 acres of land at West Huntspill, which appealed to a number of ecological, agricultural and equestrian buyers and finally went under the hammer at £53,000.

A further smaller block of land also at West Huntspill with development potential lying on the edge of the village offering future development opportunities sold for £100,000.

At Stretcholt, near Bridgwater, an excellent combination of former agricultural buildings and derelict traditional buildings with pasture and orchard land extending to 4.05 acres went under the hammer at £180,000.

Strong bidding for a wonderful farming opportunity at Enmore comprising 20.7 acres of arable land fetched a price of £262,000.

An attractive block of 17 acres at Westhay, near Glastonbury, saw strong bidding, with the hammer finally falling at £191,000.

Finally a delightful Grade II listed residential property in North Street, Ilminster, was secured by an online bidder at £170,000.

Greenslade Taylor Hunt’s next auctions will be held on Thursday, June 30, at the Shrubbery Hotel, in Ilminster.

There are then dates of Wednesday, July 13, at the Batch Country House Hotel, in Lympsham and following that on Thursday, July 21, at the Shrubbery Hotel, in Ilminster.
